যে-সমস্ত পদার্থের পরিবহণ ক্ষমতা পরিবাহী পদার্থের চেয়ে কম কিন্তু অন্তরক পদার্থের চেয়ে বেশি, তাদের বলে অর্ধপরিবাহী।

 তেজষ্ক্রিয় মৌলের তেজষ্ক্রিয় রশ্মি বিকিরণের ঘটনাকে তেজষ্ক্রিয়তা বলে ।
 তেজস্ক্রিয়তা হলো কোন কোন ভারী মৌলিক পদার্থের একটি গুন যেগুলোর নিউক্লিয়াস থেকে স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে অবিরত আলফা,বিটা ও গামা রশ্মি বিকরীত হয়।

[i] তেজস্ক্রিয়তা সম্পূর্ণরূপে একটি নিউক্লীয় ঘটনা [nuclear phenomenon] । এর সঙ্গে নিউক্লিয়াস বহির্ভূত ইলেকট্রনের কোনো সম্পর্ক নেই ।

[ii] যে সকল মৌলের পারমাণবিক সংখ্যা 83 -এর বেশি হয়, কেবলমাত্র তারাই তেজস্ক্রিয়তা দেখায় । হালকা মৌলের ভিতর তেজস্ক্রিয়তা দেখা যায় না ।

[iii] তেজস্ক্রিয় বিকিরণে তিন রকম রশ্মি আছে । এদের বলা হয় α -রশ্মি, ß -রশ্মি এবং ɤ-রশ্মি ।

[iv] তেজস্ক্রিয়তা হল নিউক্লিয়াসের ভাঙ্গন বা বিঘটন । এই বিঘটনের ফলে একটি মৌল সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন রাসায়নিক ও ভৌত ধর্মাবলী বিশিষ্ট নতুন মৌলে রূপান্তরিত হয় ।

Global warming can have disastrous effects on living organisms. The impacts of global warming are widespread and unspecific. Some areas experience a sudden rise in the temperature while others witness a sudden fall in it.

The major reason for global warming is the burning of fossil fuel for energy. It has been noted that the average temperature on the earth has increased by 1.5 degrees Celsius in the past decade. This is a reason for worry as it can damage ecosystems and might result in the disruption of the environment. Global warming can be checked if we take concrete steps towards restoring the lost vegetation in our forests. We can also use clean energy sources like wind energy, solar energy, and tidal energy to check the rise in global warming.
